Went out glassing last night and saw some pretty good bucks! The biggest ones where kinda just outside of the riverbottom in some small drainages but they'll be moving into the cover of the riverbottom here shortly. The elk seem to be getting a little more fired up by the day so by next week it should be pretty good action. The hot weather has finally broke and we are seeing some cooler temps in the area right now with cloud cover and some intermitten showers.
We worked on setting 2 new stands and creating a natural blind to replace a treestand set where the tree died so I think this natural blind will be a killer at some point. Like I mentioned before I'm finally starting to see more bucks showing themselves in daylight. We're all set and ready to go for our first group coming in Saturday!
The dogs have been getting after the gophers here around the house! So hard they've worn the hair off their noses that raw sticking their heads into the holes I had to order some special ointment for healing. Darwins got 1 on the board to start the season so far.
