Date: October 31st, 2023
The second week of rifle season and it was a great start with 2 bull elk, 1 mule deer buck, 1 whitetail buck, and 1 antelope in the first 2 days. We had a lot of first's this week as hunters harvested their first bull elk, first every whitetail, and very first antelope. The snow certainly makes a difference and we are starting to see more animals and some new bucks. The weather started out cold and is warming up a bit now but the hunting has been fantastic!
It's been a busy 2 days and now we are into day 3 of the week and we only have 1 more hunter trying to tag out on a antelope. He harvested his whitetail buck yesterday afternoon but missed a antelope buck about 30 minutes ago. Besides that we should be finished for the week already with all 5 hunters tagged out but we'll have to try and get another crack at the antelope to finish off the week early.
Next week we have 2 elk hunters and 2 mule deer hunters. Hoping to keep the animals rolling into the snow and tagging out. Stay tuned for more updates. I've already started the new Shutterfly photo album we print off at the end of the year for the hunting lodge and it's looking pretty solid so far!
